What a party and what a night for the Dems. McCain is to announce his VP within hours (a woman, just you watch!). It’s a race, a fight, whatever analogy you want to use to the finish.

Hey Gus, what would you think of having John Edwards as Obama’s VP? I was thinking about it and thought it might be a good fit. Now I’m not really that in tune with the Democratic party so I thought I would run it by you. Edwards as VP could make for a strong ticket, I think.

Yes I would. But I wouldn’t appreciate it. I mean the policy differences between Obama and McCain are just so big putting HRC on the ticket isn’t going to drive me away. And as long as he’s in charge, I’m happy. I seriously doubt he will choose her though, it just doesn’t jive with his message and style. Not sure who I am for as VP though.

OUR LONG NATIONAL NIGHTMARE IS OVER.

McCain had better step it up fast—his speech last week was so comically pitiful that at this point it looks like he could get seriously electorally embarrassed. I almost feel sorry for him. Then again, it’s a long time until November. At least we can talk about some issues again, as you say.

I’d say Tuesday’s night’s “I command an army of 18 million voters” attitude didn’t help her VP odds either. In fact it probably got her pushed out the next day—thank goodness.

I love how (before this ‘not seeking it’ memo) she let it be known that she’d be willing to be VP. Not that anyone asked. Yeah, um, I’m willing to be Brad Pitt’s dressing assistant and the sole heir to Bill Gates’ fortune. Just in case anyone was wondering.
