My apologies for not posting much recently, as I have been working two jobs lately. Also, I will be trying to expand the topics of discussion that I post about beyond simply the primary election. It was not my intent to focus solely on the primary, its just that it has been getting most of my attention lately, for obvious reasons. Other topics take a little more time and I haven’t had it lately.
Please bear with us because its been interesting and I hope that readers will continue to comment, and I encourage MORE comments, otherwise its not really much fun. I like the variety of opinions that are made and the chance to read different sides of issues. And I would ask that everyone try to keep comments directed at the issue, not the person, and I think for the most part that has been the case, so I thank you. Happy posting! We are always looking for new readers and more comments.

| Dean: “…you’ve got to stick to the rules…I wish Florida and Michigan had done that, because it would make this much easier. ?But once the rules are set, everybody knows who’s running for president what the rules are. And if you change the rules in the middle of the game you’re disadvantaging or advantaging one of the candidates. That you cannot do because it destroys the credibility of the process. ? |

Honestly, what the heck were our MI party leaders thinking? I couldn’t even vote for my candidate because his name wasn’t even on the ballot, and YOU WANT TO COUNT THE RESULTS OF THAT SHAM PRIMARY??It is completely beyond me how Clinton can possibly argue with any credibility that either Michigan or Florida delegations should be seated in their current proportions. You knew the rules, these two states decided not to follow DNC rules unlike the 48 other states who did and got to be a part of the process. Clinton, as usual, will do anything, stoop to any level to try and win this nomination, one of the reasons I can’t stand her. If the two states hadn’t picked her, do you really think she’d be arguing for this now? NO. She is not entitled to nor does she deserve this nomination and I’m not real sure why she thinks she is. This is supposed to be a democracy last I checked, not a hereditary oligarchy or anything.
You want to have a re-vote with Obama on the ballot and a chance to campaign here, fine. But no way in hell are you getting away with changing the rules in the middle of the game.
I wholeheartedly applaud Chairman Dean for his comments today about knowing and sticking by the rules of the game as they were set out last year.

As an avid fan of politics for most of my life, it seemed logical to finally start actually writing about my thoughts and trying to spur some debate and maybe even some action. The last eight years of this awful, law-breaking administration have left this country in two wars, a recession and sick of having a president who invents his own reality.
I was excited about this election, even more so after the results in 2006 when the Republicans lost control of Congress. However, the effect of that has been minimal, at least when it comes to ending out adventure in Iraq. In 2004, I was a huge Howard Dean fan because of his honesty, outspokenness and willingness to stand up for many of the same principles that I believe in. Obviously, it didn’t work out. John Kerry–not as good.
In 2008, what gets me most excited is that finally we have a candidate that people can support and build a movement of change around, from the ground up. Many people felt the last couple elections were more like choosing the lesser of two evils; it wasn’t so much supporting someone, it was not liking the other person more.
I am proud and excited to fully support Barack Obama this year. I truly believe he is this country’s best hope for the future, if we want a new path, a new way, a brighter day. Yes, he gives great speeches because inspiring people to do great things is important, but he also has very detailed plans and ideas on how to make positive change happen for the people in this country who need it most. Obama 2008!
