More Supers for Obama; Clinton denies Michigan Delegate Plan

Published by Gus under Primary Campaign 08

Today Obama picked up 9 more Superdelegates! Pretty impressive. Hillary lost one and gained two. I’m not sure the point in publicly endorsing Hillary at this point, but whatev.

ABC, Politico and the NY Times now report they each have Obama with MORE superdelegates than HIllary. I don’t know how you can base your campaign on winning over more superdelegates than Obama when, since Feb. 5 he’s out gained her like 110-16 or something.

Chris Matthews compared Howard Wolfson, Clinton’s spokesman, to a Japanese fighter in WWII AFTER the war ended. “You’re like one of these Japanese soldiers that’s still fighting in 1953.”

Rassmussen Reports, a polling firm who’s been conducting a daily tracking poll of the Democratic race, is stopping its polling now. Why?

However, while Senator Clinton has remained close and competitive in every meaningful measure, she is a close second and the race is over. It has become clear that Barack Obama will be the Democratic nominee.
At the moment, Senator Clinton’s team is busily trying to convince Superdelegates and pundits that she is more electable than Barack Obama …Even if every single Superdelegate was convinced that the former First Lady is somewhat more electable than Obama, that is not enough of a reason to deny him the nomination. With this in mind, Rasmussen Reports will soon end our daily tracking of the Democratic race and focus exclusively on the general election competition between Republican John McCain and Democrat Barack Obama.

Hey, if the pollsters aren’t polling it anymore, it can’t be worthwhile. Did you get that, Hillary?

MI news. Joy. A plan is now being proposed to the DNC to allocated MI delegates 69-59 in favor of Clinton.  Now, she is against this plan! She wants all 73 proportioned to her from the “vote” here. She is still acting like some sort of fair election took place here. HELLO!!! I was unable to vote for my candidate because….his name WAS NOT ON THE BALLOT. She says she is for democracy, but not if it doesn’t benefit her. We HAVE to seat the MI & FL delegations even though the only way she can win is undemocratically with the Superdelegates overturning the publics choice. Hmmm. Go figure that one out. Hillary brings election reform–one-party, Soviet style rule.

If I were Obama, I would almost be very tempted to accept this new proposal. The principle, though, is tough to give up that it was a completely unfair election and the delegates should be split evenly. Its hard to give legitimacy of any sort to the primary that took place here.

Indiana closer than reported

Published by Gus under Primary Campaign 08

According to the Indiana Secretary of State, the official totals were:

Hillary Clinton:   637,814        50.4%

Barack Obama:  626,642       49.6%

The difference:  11,152          less than 1 %

Wow. Now that’s pushing Florida 2000. Ok, not quite, but I bet Limbaugh’s little interference plan gave Hillary the numbers to win.
