Troops in Iraq Support Obama, Clinton

Surprising Political Endorsements By U.S. Troops

Check out the article above. Granted, its just one article on a few soldiers, but the implications are interesting to think about since it seems like most people here tend to assume troops in the field support the fact that they are there, and thus support the Bush/Republican Party. Apparently, that’s not the case. Soldiers don’t toe some party line, as some of you can personally attest to. They don’t, I am sure, appreciate 15-month repeated deployments to a country that doesn’t want them there and to a war that we already won (so why are we still there????), or to be put in the middle of a civil war where the only solution is political, not military. Shocking, I know.

shocking. oh wait. media bias. nvm. typical.

I can paint pictures, too. They might not be as well done, but give me enough quotes and I could do a decent job.

C’mon gus, you can post better stuff than this.

Hey, I did acknowledge it was only one piece on a few troops. In no way did I try to attribute that sentiment to all or even a majority of the troops in the field. So cut me a little slack there boy.

I don’t see how this article proves your “point” is all. I still think that the majority of them over there are pretty deeply committed to their commander in chief. Until there is an actual poll taken, a few out of context yet well chosen quotes won’t make me say otherwise. Until all is said and done it still IS the case.

That is all I’m trying to say.

Well I hope they are not “committed to their commander in chief.” I hope they are committed to their country!

Anyway, I don’t disagree with your point, a majority of them probably do support the mission there, but I don’t know unless we polled them all.
