Since there has been some discussion here about Howard Dean, here’s a decent article in the Washington Post today about his foresight and effect he’s had on the Democratic Party (like him or not).
Feel free to read and comment!

Yesterday, Hillary basically claimed in Oregon (hey Wetzels!) that she started criticizing the Iraq War before Obama did. I’m sorry? Now that’s just nonsense. This report from ABC:
Clinton on Saturday told Oregonians, “when Sen. Obama came to the Senate he and I have voted exactly the same except for one vote. And that happens to be the facts. We both voted against early deadlines. I actually started criticizing the war in Iraq before he did.”
It’s an odd way to measure opposition to the war — comparing who gave the first criticism of the war in Iraq starting in January 2005, ignoring Obama’s opposition to the war throughout 2003 and 2004. (And Clinton’s vote for it.)
But even if one were to employ this “Start Counting in January 2005″ measurement, Clinton did not criticize the war in Iraq first.
From an analytical point of view, I’m not even sure why she wants to bring up the Iraq war vote in the first place, since she was on the wrong side of it and has never really admitted to being wrong or honestly saying it was an error in judgment. But to go and say a whopper like this? After the Bosnia sniper fantasy? And the false story about the lady being denied health care for $100? This incident feeds into the “narrative” that Hillary doesn’t speak the truth and will try and say anything to win.
Just keep on digging, Hillary, keep on digging.
