Political Discussions galore await you here!

Published by Gus under Uncategorized

As an avid fan of politics for most of my life, it seemed logical to finally start actually writing about my thoughts and trying to spur some debate and maybe even some action. The last eight years of this awful, law-breaking administration have left this country in two wars, a recession and sick of having a president who invents his own reality.

I was excited about this election, even more so after the results in 2006 when the Republicans lost control of Congress. However, the effect of that has been minimal, at least when it comes to ending out adventure in Iraq. In 2004, I was a huge Howard Dean fan because of his honesty, outspokenness and willingness to stand up for many of the same principles that I believe in. Obviously, it didn’t work out. John Kerry–not as good.

In 2008, what gets me most excited is that finally we have a candidate that people can support and build a movement of change around, from the ground up. Many people felt the last couple elections were more like choosing the lesser of two evils; it wasn’t so much supporting someone, it was not liking the other person more.

I am proud and excited to fully support Barack Obama this year. I truly believe he is this country’s best hope for the future, if we want a new path, a new way, a brighter day. Yes, he gives great speeches because inspiring people to do great things is important, but he also has very detailed plans and ideas on how to make positive change happen for the people in this country who need it most. Obama 2008!
